(Alliance News) - Shares in Mirriad Advertising PLC surged on Monday after it announced a partnership with US-based media firm Group Black Inc.

The London-based virtual product placement and in-content advertising platform said the agreement will see its AI-powered virtual product placement technology integrated into Group Black's slate of original content, allowing brands to appear directly within TV shows and video programming.

Shares in Mirriad closed up 44% at 0.36 pence in London on Monday.

Group Black focuses on "delivering media that resonates with audiences". The companies said the collaboration will open new monetisation channels for both content creators and advertisers.

Mirriad Chief Executive Officer Stephan Beringer called the deal a "win-win for branded entertainment", adding that it creates value for advertisers while supporting sustainable revenue for culturally connected programming.

Cavel Khan, chief growth officer at Group Black, said the partnership would help deliver "innovative brand experiences that deeply resonate with audiences".
