Pressure Technologies PLC - Sheffield, England-based engineering firm - Says its wholly-owned subsidiary Chesterfield Special Cylinders Ltd or CSC has won a strategically significant contract from hydrogen systems integrator Hydrasun Ltd, to supply pressurised hydrogen storage systems to the bp Aberdeen Hydrogen Hub project. Project is a joint venture between BP PLC and Aberdeen City Council in Scotland. Company says the hub will feature integrated hydrogen production, buffer storage and distribution facilities. It will use steel cylinder packages designed and manufactured by CSC which will start manufacturing in the third quarter and deliver finished systems to the project in early 2026. Company says this is CSC's first contract "to supply large-scale hydrogen storage systems to groundbreaking clean energy projects in the UK" and winning it "represents a significant strategic milestone". Adds that CSC is in a good position to supply the future projects it expects will form part of the UK government's net zero strategy.
"We are looking forward to the collaboration and continuing relationship with Hydrasun, where delivery of the Aberdeen Hydrogen Hub will enable us both to demonstrate our respective capabilities and help progress our ambitious plans in this quickly developing market," comments Pressure Technologies Chief Executive Chris Walters.
