(Alliance News) - Gulf Marine Services PLC on Wednesday said it has won a new contract for an additional vessel in the Middle East.

Gulf Marine Services is an Abu Dhabi-based provider of self-propelled and self-elevating support vessels for the offshore energy sector.

It said the new contract was awarded by an unnamed "major regional client" and spans an initial term of seven months, including extensions.

Gulf Marine said the vessel will support a range of offshore operations to "deliver tailored solutions for various projects in the region".

Executive Chair Mansour Al Alami said: "This award underscores GMS's ability to source and provide customised solutions to our clients and demonstrates our flexibility in meeting current as well as future demand."

Shares in Gulf Marine Services were up 1.1% to 18.50 pence in London on Wednesday afternoon.
