(Alliance News) - BATM Advanced Communications Ltd on Monday announced an annual loss as expenses outpaced revenue growth.

The Hod Hasharon, Israel-based provider of real-time technologies for networking solutions and medical laboratory systems said it swung to a loss of USD5.4 million in 2024 from a profit of USD2.8 million in 2023.

Revenue edged up to 0.5% to USD117.3 million from USD116.7 million.

Total operating costs however increased 17% to USD41.5 million from USD35.6 million.

Pertinently, the company incurred other operating costs of USD4.5 million in 2024, compared to income of USD1.2 million in 2023.

Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation fell 18% to USD8.1 million in 2024 from USD9.9 million in 2023.

In its Networking division, it swung to a loss before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of USD3.4 million in 2024, from an Ebitda of USD1.7 million in 2023.

Revenue in Networking dived 57% to USD8.5 million in 2024 from USD19.8 million in 2023.

Regarding Networking, the firm said: "While the underlying demand for network expansion and optimisation remains high, revenue in the Networking division continued to be impacted by the global slowdown in the telecommunications industry, with macroeconomic challenges resulting in organisations pausing or delaying purchasing decisions. The reduction in Ebitda reflects the lower revenue, with the division continuing to deliver high-margin products."

BATM Advanced said it was looking to the future "with confidence". In its outlook, it said: "The largest contributor to the group's revenue growth in 2025 is expected to be the Networking division as the expansion of the sales team and refocused go-to-market strategy drive increasing sales. The group is also encouraged by the improving telecommunications market backdrop, with customers recommencing purchasing as they begin to replenish their inventory levels to support growing demand."

BATM Advanced shares rose 2.2% to 15.03 pence each on Monday afternoon in London.
