(Alliance News) - The UK competition regulator on Thursday cleared the takeover of Spirent Communications PLC by Keysight Technologies Inc.
The Competition & Markets Authority said it has decided not to refer the merger to a phase two investigation, as it is considered too small to have a substantial impact on competition within the market.
The CMA launched a merger inquiry on January 16.
In March 2024, Crawley, England-based test and assurance solutions provider Spirent said it agreed to a GBP1.16 billion takeover from the Santa Rosa, California-based manufacturer of electronics test and measurement equipment and software.
Earlier this month, Keysight struck a deal with Viavi Solutions Inc to sell Spirent's high-speed ethernet and network security business after the acquisition of Spirent completes.
At the time, Spirent said the two firms were aiming for the acquisition to complete by April 30.
Spirent shares were up 0.1% at 189.60 pence in London on Thursday afternoon.
