Ricardo PLC, up 1.1% at 237.56 pence, 12-month range 206.00p-536.22p. Science Group, a science and technology consultancy, says it has snapped up a more than 8% stake in environmental and engineering consulting company Ricardo. Science Group said it will "engage with the Ricardo board and major shareholders". As of the London close on Thursday, it owns 5.26 million shares in Ricardo, just under an 8.5% holding. Science Group shares were 0.9% lower.

Baillie Gifford China Growth Trust PLC, down 2.7% at 264.61p, 12-month range 175.78p-279.00p. Shares in the China-focused investor falls after Asian stocks were rattled by tariff worries overnight.

TT Electronics PLC, down 2.6% at 82.40p, 12-month range 70.60p-184.00p. Shares in the company decline again after a recovery on Wednesday and Thursday. On Tuesday, the manufacturer of electronic solutions for critical applications fell 2.6% after it said that its 2024 results would be delayed by up to two weeks and that it no longer expects its medium-term 12% adjusted operating margin target to be delivered in 2026. It also predicted a non-cash accounting impairment of goodwill and fixed assets worth up to GBP35 million regarding its North America operations.
