(Alliance News) - Wizz Air Holdings PLC on Tuesday announced the launch of a new direct flight between London Gatwick and Medina in Saudi Arabia, as it celebrates its tenth year being listed on the London Stock Exchange.
The Budapest-based budget airline said the new route, which facilitates more than 174,000 seats a year, launches on August 1 and will be the second Wizz Air flight from the UK that uses the longer-range Airbus XLR aircraft. The first flight is scheduled on March 31 from London Gatwick to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

Wizz Air is targeting passenger growth of 15% to 20% annually.
Shares in Wizz Air were up 0.8% at 1,574.00 pence in London on Tuesday afternoon. The stock has fallen 28% over the last twelve months, but has risen 20% since its initial public offering in 2015.
