(Alliance News) - Foresight Solar Fund on Friday appointed Tony Roper to its board as non-executive director.

Roper is independent non-executive chair of SDCL Energy Efficiency Income Trust PLC, and chair of abrdn European Logistics Income PLC. He led the 2011 management buy-out of HSBC Specialist Investments to create InfraRed Capital Partners, where he oversaw the launch of The Renewables Infrastructure Group on the London Stock Exchange.

Foresight Solar, a Jersey-based investor in solar and battery storage assets, on Friday declared a 2.00 pence per share dividend in its third-quarter results and confirmed its 8.00p annual target.

Foresight Solar also disclosed that Roper holds 34,725 shares in the firm "via a family investment company". Foresight Solar added that Roper's children were the beneficiaries and that: "While he [Roper] controls the decision-making regarding these shares, he derives no economic benefit from them".

Foresight Solar shares were down 0.5% at 80.41p each on Friday morning in London.
