(Alliance News) - Mission Group PLC on Thursday said Chief Executive Officer James Clifton has resigned as a director of the company with immediate effect.
Clifton has left the Devon, England based owner of a group of digital marketing and communications agencies to pursue a new opportunity.
The company said it has appointed non-executive director Mark Lund as interim CEO. Lund joined the board in September 2022 after co-founding agency DLKW. He was recently president of McCann Worldgroup UK and Europe and is currently non-executive chair of Smart Energy GB and the Advertising Standards Board of Finance.
Mission Group said it would start a search process for a new CEO and provide an update in due course.
James Clifton said: "I have been very proud to lead Mission over the last five years. With firm foundations and a highly talented leadership team in place, the Mission feels set fair for 2024 and beyond. As such now feels like the right time to take on my next challenge, outside the group."
Interim CEO Mark Lund said: "I'm delighted to step into this interim role and look forward to working closely with Mission's entrepreneurial agency teams as we continue to deliver against our strategy and set our direction for further progress in 2025 and beyond."
Mission Group shares closed down 1.6% to 18.20 pence in London on Thursday afternoon.
