(Alliance News) - Thor Energy PLC on Tuesday said that drilling has started at the Groundhog prospect, which is located on the firm's Wedding Bell project in Colorado.

Thor Energy is an exploration company with a focus on battery and strategic minerals and with prospective projects in Australia and the US.

Reverse circulation drilling has now started at the prospect, and will focus on high-grade uranium and vanadium mineralisation intercepted in 23WBRA020, with extension holes up to 300 metres to the north and east.

Thor Energy expects the drilling to take four weeks to complete, with downhole gamma results released to the market "as they become available".

"We are pleased to report drilling has now commenced at our Wedding Bell Project, with the RC drill programme commencing at our Groundhog Mine Prospect. The program is anticipated to last four weeks, with downhole gamma results released to the market as they become available," said Executive Chair Alastair Clayton.

Shares in Thor Energy were trading 8.7% higher at 1.00 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
