(Alliance News) - DG Innovate PLC on Friday said it has delivered a "cutting-edge" prototype motor to its Pareta project partner, Meritor Electric Powertrain Systems UK Ltd.
DG Innovate is a Bingley, England-based sustainable mobility and energy storage solutions company, whilst Meritor Electric Powertrain Systems is a wholly-owned subsidiary of New York-listed Cummins Inc.
Shares in DG Innovate were up 18% at 0.071 pence each in London on Friday morning.
The 450 kilowatt motor has a 97% measured efficiency when paired with DG Innovate's inverter, and a 99% efficiency from the motor alone. Its "innovative" cooling method "ensures peak performance under extreme conditions, enhancing both reliability and longevity", the company explained.
Meritor will now begin in-house testing of the motor, intending to use the design in its ePowertrain offering, a power system aimed at original equipment manufacturer clients for heavy duty applications.
Chief Executive Officer Peter Bardenfleth-Hansen said: "This significant milestone underscores the exceptional capabilities of our engineering team and reaffirms DG Innovate's position at the forefront of motor innovation. The delivery of this advanced drive unit to Cummins-Meritor stands as a testament to the dedication and expertise of our engineering team. Our relentless pursuit of excellence guarantees that our clients receive the most advanced technology, along with the reliability and performance they have come to expect from DG Innovate."
