(Alliance News) - Consumer goods firm Unilever PLC on Thursday said it had completed the sale of its Russian subsidiary to Arnest Group, a Russian manufacturer of perfume, cosmetics and household products.

While strongly condemning Moscow's invasion of Ukraine, Unilever joined other multinationals in maintaining operations in Russia, triggering widespread criticism. London-based Unilever, which is behind many brands such as Dove, Persil, Lynx and ice cream brand Wall's, said its business in Russia's close ally Belarus was included in the sale.

Unilever shares were 0.4% lower at 4,790.00 pence each on Thursday morning in London.
