(Alliance News) - Future Metals NL on Wednesday announced it has commenced diamond drilling at its Eileen Bore prospect in Australia.
Future Metals is an exploration company focused on projects in Western Australia.
Future Metals said the drilling will target extensions to zones of copper & nickel mineralisation found in historic third party drilling.
The firm said the drilling will also test additional undrilled targets with confirmed nickel & copper sulphides at the surface immediately adjacent to Eileen Bore.
It noted that this will be the first drilling at Eileen Bore in over 20 years.
Future Metals' Chairman Patrick Walta said: "First drilling by Future Metals at our Eileen Bore Prospect is an exciting step forward for the company and follows a thorough process to secure the requisite heritage clearance approvals. Topdrill have now mobilised to site and drilling is underway."
Future Metals shares were up 6.0% at 0.98 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon.
