(Alliance News) - The volume of retail sales in Ireland turned back to year-on-year growth in July, data published by the Central Statistics Office showed Friday.

The volume of retail sales was up 0.4% on-year in July, swung from a fall of 1.8% the CSO had reported a month ago for June.

The largest year-on-year volume growth in July was in Hardware, Paints & Glass, up 11% and accelerating from on-year growth of 2.1% in June.

Monthly, retail volumes were up just 0.1%, after a previously reported monthly decline of 1.4% for June.
