WPP PLC - London-based advertising agency - Picks Philip Jansen to be its next non-executive chair. Jansen was chief executive of telecommunications provider BT Group PLC from 2019 until this past February. Prior to BT, he was CEO of payments firm Worldpay and of food wholesaler Brakes Group. He also has worked for US personal and home care products firm Procter & Gamble Co. Jansen will join the board on September 16 and replace Roberto Quarta on January 1.

Angela Ahrendts, WPP's senior independent director and the former CEO of luxury goods firm Burberry PLC, led the search for a new chair. "Philip brings a valuable blend of experience, from leading technology and consumer goods companies to transforming large, complex organisations and creating significant value for shareholders," Ahrendts says. "As a former marketer he understands our business, its clients and the opportunities ahead of us."

Current stock price: 743.20 pence, up 0.4% in London early Tuesday

12-month change: down 13%
