(Alliance News) - Gateley Holdings PLC on Tuesday said it has bought Evesham, Worcestershire-based patent attorney firm Symbiosis IP Ltd.

Gateley, a Birmingham-based legal and professional services group, said the GBP2.5 million acquisition is part of its organic growth plan.

Symbiosis delivered GBP1.8 million in revenue in its financial year ended March 31, Gateley said.

Gateley Chief Executive Officer Rod Waldie stated: "This strategic acquisition will extend the reach of our offering in intellectual property, patents and trademark work across our consultancy and legal services teams who operate in this field.

"The acquisition of Symbiosis forms part of an acquisitive and organic growth plan that builds on the expertise we have in the intangible assets market and where we believe there is potential for further development."

Gateley shares were virtually flat at 191.49 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
