WANdisco PLC - Sheffield-based data-management software company – Announces two new contracts for its LiveData Migrator product. Wins a contract, worth USD213,000, with unnamed "world leading personal computer vendor". The customer will use LiveData Migrator to migrate data from its existing Hadoop environment to cloud-native systems. WANdisco's LDM was chosen as it keeps data up to date during migration and does not require manual refreshing, the company says.
"Our LDM solution supports complete and continuous replication of data sets at any scale, ensuring these critical migrations can take place quickly with zero business disruption. This capability makes WANdisco well placed to continue converting on a strong pipeline of cloud migration opportunities," says Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder David Richards.
Separately, WANdisco announces a pre-pay license deal with Oracle Corp for USD150,000, the first following the deepening of their strategic partnership. The deal is an initial rollout across a couple of Oracle's customers, where Oracle will purchase the licenses directly from WANdisco. The deal is part of a "large and defined" pipeline for Oracle's use of LDM, says WANdisco.
