SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Ted Baker PLC, up 13% at 144.58 pence, 12-month range 79.60p-217.60p. The fashion retailer says it has received a third takeover offer from Sycamore Partners Management LP. Ted Baker is evaluating the "improved proposal from Sycamore," it says, having launched a formal sales process in agreement with the UK Takeover Panel. It also says it had also received another "unsolicited" approach by an unnamed party. Ted Baker did not disclose the value of the latest approach by Sycamore or the unnamed third party. Fellow clothing retailer Superdry is up 3.8% in a positive read-across.

Cloudbreak Discovery PLC, down 2.9% at 6.67p, 12-month range 1.43p-13.50p. The natural resource project generator swings to interim pretax loss due to a loss on market value of its stock holdings and higher administrative expenses. For six months ended December 31, swings to pretax loss of GBP2.8 million from a GBP4.6 million profit the year before. The value of the company's investments at December 31 stood at GBP2.6 million compared with GBP5.1 million on the same date the year before.
