(Alliance News) - Berenberg on Wednesday said Deep Defence Sarl has raised GBP63.8 million from selling shares in Cambridge-based cybersecurity firm Darktrace PLC.

A fund managed by Vitruvian Partners has sold 11.0 million shares in Darktrace at a price of 580 pence each. The price was an 8.3% discount to Darktrace's closing price of 632.5p on Tuesday.

Darktrace shares were trading 5.4% lower in London on Wednesday at 598.06p each.

Joh Berenberg Gossler & Co KG and Morgan Stanley & Co International PLC acted as joint global co-ordinators and joint bookrunners in connection with the transaction.

The sale was first announced after the market close on Tuesday, with the closing of sale expected on Friday. Vitruvian will retain just shy of a 3% stake in Darktrace following the placing and has agreed to a 60-day lock-up for these shares. Darktrace will not receive any of the placing proceeds.
