(Alliance News) - Hargreaves Lansdown PLC on Friday said it has appointed Direct Line Insurance Group PLC Chief Executive Penny James as senior independent director.
The Bristol, England-based direct-to-consumer investment platform said James will join as a senior independent director from September 1. Also, James will join the risk & nomination committee.
James became CEO of Direct Line in 2019, having served as chief financial officer from 2017. Prior to that, James was director of group finance at Prudential PLC and held CFO positions at Omega Insurance Holdings Ltd and Zurich Financial Services's UK General Insurance arm.
Hargreaves Chair Deanna Oppenheimer said: "Brings exceptional skills with broad ranging financial services experience - in particular in leading digital innovation and transformation - and supports the continued strengthening and diversity of the group board."
Hargreaves Lansdown shares were trading 1.1% lower at 1,578.50 pence each in London on Friday morning, while Direct Line was down 0.4% at 289.50.
