(Alliance News) - Alba Mineral Resources PLC on Friday announced it has confirmed gold mineralisation from the Llechfraith lode at the Clogau-St David's gold mine in Wales.

The mineral exploration and development company with assets in Greenland and the UK said its phase one drilling encompassed 10 drill holes, with a final drilled total of 1,158 metres.

Shares in Alba Mineral Resources were up 3.5% at 0.29 pence in London on Friday, having been up 18% at 0.33p earlier.

Results has proven gold mineralisation in the identified veins, with individual values of up to 4.25 grams per tonne. It also found two other vein systems with gold mineralisation intersected in the drilling and plans to explore these further.

"The drilling at Llechfraith has proved that the main lode in fact comprises two discrete lodes, separated by about 10 metres. In addition, the drilling has also identified two other vein systems further to the south. The best developed of these new vein systems we are calling the Canol Vein System and the uppermost the Sill Vein System," said Chief Operating Officer Mark Austin.
