(Alliance News) - Virgin Money UK PLC on Monday announced Clifford Abrahams will take on the roles of chief financial officer and executive director from March 8, having received regulatory approval.
Back in November, the Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England-based midcap lender said Abrahams will replace Interim CFO Enda Johnson pending regulatory approval. He had been working as CFO at ABN Amro Bank since 2017 and before that was CFO at Dutch insurer Delta Lloyd. Abrahams also has held senior finance roles at insurer Aviva PLC and at the beginning of his career worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley.
Virgin Money UK Chair David Bennett said back in November: "Clifford is a highly experienced financial services CFO and brings a wealth of expertise to the group to support us in delivering our strategy."
Abrahams said Virgin Money "is an exciting company with strong foundations and unique opportunities to disrupt the UK banking industry."
Shares in Virgin Money UK were up 1.7% at 131.90 pence in London on Monday.
