Absolute Return Trust EUR (ABRE): Graham Harrison will join the board of the fund in January, bringing the number of board members to six. Harrison currently serves on the boards of four other listed companies.
Edinburgh Worldwide (EWI): Helen James has bought her first tranche of shares since her appointment in December 2010.
India Capital Growth (IGC): Having served as a non-executive director for four years, Andrew Maiden has resigned from the board. He has been replaced by John Whittle, who currently sit on the boards of two other listed companies.
JPMorgan Chinese (JMC): William Knight will replace Nigel Melville as chairman of the company. Melville, who retires on December 16, has been on the board since 1997 and has chaired it since 2003. Knight, who also sits on the board of Fidelity Asian Values, has been a non-executive director here since April 2004.
JPMorgan Elect Managed Growth (JPE): The board of the fund has appointed an industry recruitment consultant to assist in the search for two non-executive directors to be appointed in early 2012. They will replace Nigel Sidebottom and Simon Miller, who will be retiring in August and December next year respectively. Sidebottom, audit committee chairman and non-executive director, has been on the board since 1999; Miller, board chairman, was appointed in 2004. In preparation for his retirement, Robert Ottley, who joined the board together with Miller, has been appointed deputy chairman.
JPMorgan Russian Securities (JRS): Pamela Idelson Smith will retire as chairman of the company after the AGM on March 19 next year. No successor has been announced yet. Mrs Gill Nott, who sits on board of four other funds, has been appointed as an executive director, bringing the number of board members to eight.
Keystone (KIT): Beatrice Hollond has bought her first tranche of shares since her appointment to the board in 2003.
Matrix European Real Estate (MERE): Wessel Hamman and Roger Phillips have been appointed as non-executive directors of the company, bringing the number of board members to six. Hamman is currently Chief Executive of Clearance Capital LLP, which specialises in the management of real estate securities funds. He also sits on the board of three other listed companies. Phillips sits on the board of seven other listed companies.
Sirius Real Estate (SRE): Justin Michael Schaefer has succeeded Eitan Milgram as a non-executive director and is the representative on the board of Weiss Asset Management, one of the largest shareholders in the fund. Justin Schaefer is an investment analyst at Weiss Asset Management and this is first role of this kind for him. Milgram was only appointed in July following a major reshuffle on the board initiated by Weiss Asset Management.
XXI Century Investments (XXIC): Jaroslav Kinach has resigned as a non-executive director having served on the board since launch of the company in December 2005. The board still numbers ten members following his departure, comprising six non-executive directors and four executive ones.
