Investec: Equity Markets Are Too Cheap

There's great upside to be had in equities this year as markets are too cheap and companies' earnings are being upgraded, says Investec's Max King

Max King, portfolio co-manager of the Investec Multi-Asset Protector fund, tells Morningstar that he's optimistic about equities in 2011 as valuations are low and earnings are being upgraded. Specifically, he says emerging markets equities are a 'buy' right now. Discussing the ISA-eligibility of the MAP fund, King says it's go-anywhere portfolio makes it a suitable core holding for cautious investors who don't want to take on too much risk, thanks to its protection strategy, but longer-term investors can probably get greater returns at lower cost elsewhere.
