After we launched our new Closed-end Funds Centre last year and introduced a series of new features to our Closed-end Fund Reports, we have initiated Closed-end Fund Webinars as a regular feature on Mornigstar.co.uk.
Our first CEF Webinar, The Fundamentals of Closed-end Funds, was held on the afternoon of Tuesday January 11, 2011. Key topics discussed were the different legal names used to address the CEF universe, what types of CEFs exist and how this has changed over time and what are the main differences between unit trusts/OEICs, ETFs and CEFs.
You can listen again and review the presentation slides from our latest CEF webinar by simply clicking 'Play' below. (BrightTALK will open in a new window; if you are not already a BrightTALK member, you will need to register. Registration is free and need only be completed once.) You can download the slides from this presentation to peruse at your convenience by clicking here.
The information covered in this webinar is deliberately designed to help you catch up on the fundamental CEF basics, in case you have missed some our past articles. Should you find yourself ahead of the curve on this one, we invite you to participate in the subsequent, more in depth webinars coming up in February and March.
