Old Mutual UK Select Mid Cap: Qual. Rating Updated

Although Old Mutual UK Select Mid Cap’s poor relative year coincides with a change of manager, we don’t believe investors should be overly concerned.

We have published a new Morningstar Qualitative Rating and Research Report for Old Mutual UK Select Mid Cap.

 

 

"Richard Watts could have hoped for an easier first year in charge of this fund. Although market performance during 2009 contrasted sharply with 2008's, volatility remained high. On a relative basis, under previous manager Ashton Bradbury, the fund held up better than many peers in 2008 thanks to the defensive stance taken by the UK Mid and Small Cap team across all their funds--but investors still saw losses of over 30% in this fund . . ."
