"As the market rolled over toward the end of 2008 this fund suffered more than most. This was surprising given Simon Brazier's rigorous approach to risk management and it highlighted just how much the market was being driven by fear rather than rationale. As we noted in our previous report, Brazier had a well diversified portfolio but many of his holdings had been hurt by sentiment rather than anything fundamental. At the time we did not believe this underperformance diminished the fund's attractiveness and it earned our Superior rating. . . ."
