Net sales of funds in Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs) were slightly down with £293.6m this June compared with £300.3m the previous June.

Despite the relatively upbeat news the IMA was cautious about the outlook. It said that a prolonged recovery may be necessary before investors return to the market on a substantial scale.

UK All Companies and UK Corporate Bond were again the most popular sectors judging by net retail sales. The least popular were Europe Excluding UK and UK Smaller Companies.

Once again the intermediary sector dominated retail fund sales with 67% of the total. Another 20% were through direct sales forces, 9% direct from the public and 5% through private clients.
