Christopher Johnson: One of Europe’s strongest export sectors is alcohol, with consumers in Asia and the US having their fill of spirits and champagne. So naturally the industry has found itself shaken and stirred by Trump’s tariff wars.

Despite the headwinds impacting sector share prices, these stocks are reliable dividend payers. But what are the highest yielding stocks under Morningstar coverage?

The French wine and spirit producer Pernod Ricard leads the pack yielding 4.43%. It paid its last dividend on November 27th, 2024. Its total dividend for 2024 was €4.70 the same as in 2023. But the payout has steadily risen since 2020. YTD its share price has fallen 3.31% and the stock is trading at €105.

Remy Cointreau, the family-owned French spirit group, has a dividend yield of 3.86%. The business paid an annual dividend of €2 on October 1, 2024. The French company has seen its dividend increase last year up from levels in 2023. That year the business paid an annual dividend of €1. YTD Remy Cointreau is down 10.07% and is currently trading at €51.80.

Danish beer company, Carlsberg, is yielding 3.61%. Carlsberg paid 27 Danish Kroner in its annual dividend for last year as of March 14th, 2024. This was the same amount paid in 2023, although it is an improvement from 2022’s total dividend payment of 24 Danish Kroner. YTD the beer chain is up 10.72% and its shares are trading at 771 Danish Kroner.
