Hortense Bioy: This week is London Climate Action Week and I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that Morningstar offers a wide range of tools to help investors evaluate the level of carbon risk embedded in their investment portfolios.
And today I would like to talk to you about our low-carbon designation. It’s a unique and innovative badge that we award to funds with low-carbon risk and low exposure to fossil fuels. We developed this badge to help investors quickly and easily identify funds that are well-aligned with the transition to a low-carbon economy.
About 20% of the funds in the Morningstar database have received the low-carbon designation. And here are three UK examples.
- The LF Lindsell Train UK Equity Fund, rated Gold, is a standout choice for investors comfortable with a highly concentrated portfolio.
- The Royal London Sustainable Leaders fund, rated Bronze, is a strong option for those seeking exposure to companies that show leadership in environmental, social, and governance management.
- And finally, the income-orientated Threadneedle UK Equity Income Fund, which is rated Silver, offers a balanced approach to income and growth.
As you can see, these three funds have not only been awarded the low-carbon designation, but also a high globe rating, which indicates a strong overall sustainability profile, and a top rating from our analyst team.
