SLI UK Smaller Companies – Gold
Samuel Meakin
Over time, fund manager Harry Nimmo has demonstrated the ability to manage the significant level of assets in SLI UK Smaller Companies successfully. He has done so while staying true to his investment style and seeking out long-term winners to drive investment returns. As a result, our conviction has increased in the overall approach, which we believe is one of the strongest in its Morningstar Category.
This, backed by the experience and longevity of the manager, the dedicated small-cap team, and the successful long-term track record, lead us to raise the fund's Morningstar Analyst Rating to Gold.

Invesco Asian

Invesco announced that Stuart Parks, head of the firm's Asian equities franchise since 2004, will retire in July 2019. Under his leadership, total assets under management in the strategy had grown to £13.2 billion as of 30 June 2018.
Invesco has also merged its Asian and emerging-markets equities teams under the co-leadership of William Lam and Ian Hargreaves. The new team will consist of nine investment professionals – five managers and four analysts – and will follow a common investment approach and philosophy.
Lam will remain manager of Invesco Asian UK and will also take on responsibility of Luxembourg-domiciled Invesco Asian Equity with Hargreaves as a comanager. Invesco Asian Equity is expected to replicate the exposure of Invesco Asian UK, with the exception of Australia. We don't see a material effect of Parks' retirement on Invesco Asian UK, and the fund retains its Morningstar Analyst Rating of Bronze.
