BlackRock Emerging Europe (BEEP) - Neutral
Lena Tsymbaluk
BlackRock has announced its plans to put BlackRock Emerging Europe into voluntary liquidation. Shareholders of the investment trust are offered the option of electing any combination of: receiving cash at net asset value less costs and rolling their investment into new C shares to be issued by the Neutral-rated BlackRock Frontiers investment trust.
This does not affect Luxembourg-domiciled BGF Emerging Europe, which is currently at €860 million and will continue to be managed by Sam Vecht with the same approach.
BlackRock Frontiers is a different proposition than BlackRock Emerging Europe, as it offers frontier-markets exposure. However, BGF Emerging Europe, rated Bronze, is a viable alternative for investors who can access such a vehicle.
Given that BlackRock Emerging Europe will no longer be an investment proposition, we are moving its Morningstar Analyst Rating to Neutral from Bronze.
