Following the announcement that Robin Batchelor is to retire by the end of 2015, we have placed the BlackRock Global Funds (BGF) World Energy Fund and New Energy Fund Under Review. The funds held a Morningstar Analyst Rating™ of Silver and Bronze, respectively. Alastair Bishop who joined the BlackRock resources team in 2010, covering the energy sector, has been appointed as co-manager alongside Poppy Allonby who has been at the helm since 2002. We believe Batchelor brought a wealth of experience to both strategies and his impending retirement is undoubtedly a loss to the team, particularly in the current challenging environment.
