Following a recent Morningstar Analyst Ratings Meeting, we have moved the Baillie Gifford American fund to a Morningstar Analyst Rating™ of Neutral. The fund previously held a Bronze rating. An internal review of the North American equity capability was recently conducted and as a result the group announced that resources were to be added to this team, including a new team head. Subsequently the manager of this fund, Ian Tabberer, resigned, with management of the fund passing to Gary Robinson. Robinson has a track record managing significant assets in the house style, but the continued turnover in this team and the uncertainty caused by the announcement of future hiring, result in us being unable to award the fund a positive rating at this time.
