Following the news that fund manager Ian Tabberer has left the company, we have placed the Baillie Gifford American fund Under Review. The fund previously held a Morningstar Analyst Rating™ of Bronze. At present, Tabberer’s role as lead manager on this strategy will be taken by Gary Robinson. Robinson was co-head of North American equities alongside Tabberer, and has 12 years’ experience, all of which has been spent at Baillie Gifford. He has been lead manager for the core North American mandates run by the team, and as such has been directly responsible for the majority of team assets. In addition to the departure of Tabberer, Mark Hughes, a recently appointed manager, has also left the group. While we assess these team changes and discuss the future management of this fund, we feel it is appropriate to place the rating Under Review.
