Following the Morningstar OBSR Analyst Ratings Meeting on 9th October 2014, we have awarded the Newton International Bond fund a Morningstar OBSR Analyst Rating™ of Bronze. The fund is managed by Paul Brain, with Howard Cunningham and Jon Day as alternate managers. Mr Brain is an experienced investor and, together with Messrs Cunningham and Day, forms part of an experienced and stable management team. The fund offers investors exposure to global government bonds and quasi-government bonds, with no exposure to corporate credit, and utilises Newton’s thematic investment process to drive fund positioning. We believe the depth of experience of the managers and the active investment process they adopt means that the fund is well positioned to outperform global government bond indices; we have therefore awarded the fund a Bronze rating.
