Following the Morningstar OBSR Analyst Ratings Meeting on 9th October 2014, we have moved the BlackRock UK Absolute Alpha fund to a Morningstar OBSR Analyst Rating™ of Neutral. The fund was previously Under Review following the departure of co-manager Mark Lyttleton in March 2013. Nigel Ridge replaced Mr Lyttleton as the fund’s co-manager and he has successfully managed the BlackRock UK Equity Hedge Fund since 2005. Although his experience running the hedge fund mandate will be of benefit when co-managing this fund, the UK Absolute Alpha fund will present some different challenges. We acknowledge that the performance of the fund has improved since Mr Ridge was appointed as co-manager, but at this stage we believe a Neutral rating to be appropriate.
